Wet on Wellington is situated on the northeast of Melbourne CBD, a couple of minutes walk from the gay clubs and bars of Fitzroy and Collingwood. I have visited this sauna once or twice, can’t remember exactly but the last time I went was to meet someone I have already arranged prior so I didn’t really do much exploring of the sauna. From memory, there was a lap pool, a fairly sizeable spa pool, a pretty big steam room and some private rooms that I walked past and may or may not have used one during my visit. I wasn’t in my best shape (mentally, physically, everything, I was a mess during that time due to my health) so I didn’t really pay too much attention on the venue itself, I almost fainted coming out of the spa pool which my doctor blamed it on “lack of sodium in my diet” 🙄.

Now the first big thing to watch out for is that this is a cash venue, which caught me out and I had to use a third party ATM located just next to the counter but they will charge you an arm and a leg to withdraw so make sure to bring cash with you to pay for the entry, not too sure if the bars inside will allow card but I would suggest bringing cash just to be safe. As I am visiting Melbourne a week for Midsumma (the gay month in Melbourne), there were several Midsumma events for the week and today I will be attending the Under 30s event (which includes 30 years of age, I am basically 2 months away from being banned from this event 😂). They also have a lot of themed events so make sure to check their website before you go to make sure you don’t attend on a day which you might not be able to enter or is unsuitable.

As you enter, you will need to present your ID to be scanned and pay for the entrance, then you will be given a towel and a locker. You will be buzzed in and as you enter the first part, it’s a small sitting area right next to the lap pool. There you can find the bar area for you to order food and drinks, or even toys if you find anything of interests. Along the stretch of the lap pool, you will find the spa pool, and more sitting area which also leads to an outdoor smoking area.

Behind the spa pool would be the locker space, shower area and sauna/steam. There’s not much in the ground floor for cruising activity so those will be mostly upstairs. There’s 2 separate stairs to go up, depending on which one you use, you will get to a separate part of the cruising area. The stair that is closer to the entrance will lead you to a dozen or so private rooms and some of them features a swing as well. Further in you can find a big space separated into several sections, the most likely encounter would be the “bj” room, where there are 8 stools with 4 elevated, so depending on whether you want to give or receive, you can go to one of them stool, the upper stool will give you a view to the movie area and all the action happening there. If you want to go into the movie area, you will need to walk through a maze of private rooms before arriving into the big movie area, and there it features a swing as well. This is more of an “exhibitionist” area so if you are looking for some group fun then it would be the space.

Coming back to where you got up to the stairs, there’s another set of stairs directly in front that leads down, there are a dozen more private rooms before you will get to the end where a small dark room is located, and when I say dark room you can’t see a single thing in there, don’t ask me how I know. Opposite the dark room, there’s another movie room but this is slightly smaller than the other movie room and there’s only couches for people to sit. When you go around the back of the 2nd movie room you’ll find the 2nd set of stairs that leads back down to the ground level, and that’s where the sauna and showers are located (AKA the other end of the lap pool).

Overall the facilities are decent and there’s a variety of things for people to use/do. Whether you’re looking to use a swing, have an orgy, go for a swim, have a spa/sauna session, use one of their private rooms if you are not able to host, or if all fails and you want to serve or be served, the “bj” booth would be a good anonymous way to get you started, going, or ending, depending on how good or long lasting you are, also don’t ask me how I know 🫣.
